The Surrey Hospice is very proud of our accomplishments over the past 30 years. We’ve come a long way with only a few volunteers and a psychologist to the help people of our community move through the grieving process.

Surrey, BC - December 12th 2016, on Friday November 18th the Surrey Hospice Society celebrated its 30th Anniversary in grandeur and style. This was the largest event to date. The Anniversary Gala was held at the Aria Banquet Hall in a 1930’s themed event. Attendees dressed in their best outfits and were treated to fine food, special champagne and Bruce James 19 piece orchestra. Our special guest and Master of Ceremony Shell Busey highlighted the great work our dedicated volunteers and staff have contributed to the community of Surrey since its inception.

Hopeful Hearts Spring Program
Hopeful Hearts is a group designed to provide therapeuitic and fun activities for 5-12 year olds who have experienced the loss of a signinficant adult through death. This safe and healing environment provides an opportunity for bereaved children to share and understand their grief experineces.
A parent/Guardian group runs simultaneously. Clinical Counsellors and trained volunteers provide educational information about children's grief, as well as support to parents or guardians as they share their own stories and grief experiences.
Hopeful Hearts Grief support groups for children are free of charge.

Our Thrift Store gets nominated again for Innovative Labour Solutions Award
Donna Chubb our store manager and our Thrift Store have once again been nominated for the Innovative Labour Solutions Award - It acknowledges employers that hire people with disabilities.
Our Community Thrift Store in partnership with The Surrey Fire Fighters, is not just a thrift store. We work with Milieu Services, Avia, Triumph and Work B.C. by having their clients participate in practicum work at the store.
