Community Outreach
Surrey Hospice Society has a part time Community Client Coordinator, and a team of trained volunteers to assist with individuals and families as they face a life ending experience in the home. After meeting with the individual or family member either in person or on the telephone our Community Client Coordinator may also refer the individual or family member to other palliative or bereavement appropriate programs.
One to One Client Support
For those who choose to remain in their homes we have a team of Hospice volunteers who are versed in the various issues, concerns and fluctuating needs of those that face living with a life threatening illness. Hospice volunteers offer practical and emotional support as well as companionship for the journey,
One to One Family Support
Whether family of origin or family of support, Surrey Hospice Society volunteers offer emotional and practical support, assistance and information to family members, as they address the various issues and concerns that can face those caring for a loved one who is nearing the end of life at home.

What is Bereavement?
Bereavement is grief associated with death. The death maybe of a child before or after birth, of a parent or other family member, a friend, or anyone for whom you may have deep feelings. Death may have been sudden or coming after a long process. It could be from an accident, illness, suicide, substance overdose, or homicide.
